Net4India Eyeing Wholesale Carrier Business To Expand Internationally
(The Economic Times, 20th March 2006 )
Net4India, the internet protocol (IP) communications company, is targeting the wholesale carrier business to expand operations internationally. It is expanding its capacity and is looking to tap countries in West Asia, America and south east Asia.
Jasjit Sawhney, CEO of Net4tndia, said, "We are expanding our capacities in anticipation of the big business which would open up within the next year. This would also make us more global in spread of our operations. If present, we are doing 6-7 million minutes per month out of India."
The company is investing a total of Rs. 15-20 crore to take its capacity to 150 million minutes per month by March next year. It has already invested a part of it to take the capacity to 30 million minutes per minute and the remaining investment would be made over the next few months.
At present, Net4India is handling just 2-3 million minutes per month for the international market which contributes just about 10% to its overall revenues. The company is expected to cross the Rs 50-crore turnover mark this financial year and is hoping to continue with its 20-30% growth year on year.
Founded in 1999 by professionals from UK, Net4India is engaged in three lines of business— voice-based services over IP, web services and internet access services. It operates through brands like Net4domains and Phonewala. |
