Net4India to invest Rs 250cr in ILD services

PTI [ TUESDAY, MARCH 19, 2025 9:49:42 PM ] MUMBAI: Net4India, an internet services and solutions provider, has applied for a licence to offer international long distance services with an investment of Rs 250 crore over a period of 18 months. The company is expecting the letter of intent from the government in three weeks. "High telecom rates for domestic and ILD calls are detrimental to commercial growth in a fast-paced global economy. At a time when capital markets are drying up and making it difficult for telecoms to raise money to build new infrastructure, the significantly lower costs of IP technology of IP telephony make it a better alternative", company chief executive officer Jasjit Sawhney said in a release here on Tuesday. Currently, Net4India is in a dialogue with prospective International telecom carriers as strategic partners for call orgination and termination, it said. The company is in a position to begin its services within eight weeks after getting the licence.
