Net4India get Lol for ILD services
Net4India today received the letter of intent (LoI) from the government to offer international long distance(ILD) services in the country. The company had applied for the license in March and becomes the second company to receive the LoI for ILD.
The company plans to charge 40 per cent less than current monopoly provider VSNL's existing ILD tariff. It is now in talks with international telecom carriers as partners for call origination and termination and is aiming at late 2002 launch.
Another Telecom Company Bharti, has also received LoI but its foray has been held up as it is awaiting security clearances.
Net4India officials said they were planning to invest Rs 200 crores over two years in the infrastructure and ILD services. Given the corporate focus of the company, It will be able to offer IP based data and voice solutions to corporates.
"Apart from services prices it will quality of the services that will be differentiating factor for the players in the segment. And this will be our core advantage over other players in the segment" said the company CEO Jasjit Sawhney.
