Deltathree Partners with India Service Providers
deltathree Inc. (http://corp.deltathree.com.), a provider of SIP-based hosted communications solutions for service providers and consumers, has partnered with major service providers in India, as part of its initial foray into that country's recently deregulated telecommunications market.
Net4India (www.net4india.com ) and Estel Communications (www.ciol.com) are two deltathree partners currently offering private-labeled PC-to-Phone services to their customers throughout India.
India's telecommunications industry was deregulated April 1, and it now allows licensed ISPs to offer Internet telephony services. Since April, a tremendous surge of interest has risen in value-added Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services, such as PC-to-Phone calling. deltathree is working with Net4India and Estel Communications, among others. The two Indian providers are using deltathree's robust back office support services, in conjunction with their own IP networks, to enable their customers to make international voice calls from their computers.
Commenting on the partnership, Jasjit Sawhney, CEO of Net4India said, "It's a great opportunity for all the ISPs in India as Internet telephony will bring in more revenue to these companies. The global Internet telephony market is growing at a rate of 120 percent annually with PC-to-Phone traffic reaching 280 million minutes per month, and we anticipate a similar growth rate in India. By partnering with deltathree, one of the largest IP communications solutions providers, we expect to address a significant market by the end of this fiscal year."
Estel Communication's managing director Raj Hajela added, "deltathree has the resources that are required to develop, deploy and maintain proven Internet Telephony applications. The call quality of deltathree's service is easily the highest amongst all the available providers in India."
