Net 4 India Launches Internet Telephony Card
Net 4 India, a provider of Internet solutions and services, recently launched a calling card "Phonewala International Travelers Card" in order to bring the benefits of telephony to travellers going abroad.
According to Net 4 India sources, the company is the first to offer Internet telephony cards in India. Uday Sodhi, COO at Net 4 India, revealed that the travel card would be available through the IT channel, mobile retail outlets and also directly from company's website.
“Currently, we are distributing the product and are in the process of tying up with retailers as well as implementing 'Phonewala Telecenters' across the country,' explained Sodhi.
At these Telecenters, customers will be able to make international calls from an Internet Phone at Rs 5 per minute. “We have more than 125 operational Phonewala Telecenters and have also launched an aggressive campaign to rope in cyber cafes to promote Internet telephony. These cyber cafes become a channel for us to sell and increase public usage of our services. We have more than 500 cyber cafes using our services,said Sodhi.
The card is currently available in denominations of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 and will allow users to make a call from any regular telephone booth in the country he is visiting by dialing a toll-free number.
The company has sold around 300,000 retail cards and has a customer base of 500 corporates across the country. Net 4 India offers Internet access through Dial Up, ISDN, Leased Line and Radio Links in six major cities namely, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Pune. |
